Through contact with the Vessels of Anima, she regained her memories of death, and learned of Ormus's betrayal. Having nowhere else to turn, and facing only death and a painful cycle of rebirth, she sided with her former enemies, the Kukai foundation.

Age: 36
Gender: Female
Species: Human

Canon Used: Video game. Honestly the anime deviates only slightly from the game in Pellegri's case, but we'll say game for safety's sake.

Appearance: http://pics.livejournal.com/jumpsamurai/pic/001brksx (3d render)
http://pics.livejournal.com/jumpsamurai/pic/001bqh5h (Concept art)

Psychology: Pellegri has a very dualistic personality, in many senses. She can be a very competent and demanding leader, but usually, she was placed in the position of a subordinate to Margulis. This role is the one she played the best, as her loyalty to margulis and their ideals placated her disdain for harming innocent people. While she had no remorse for killing those who stand in her way, she is and was very empathetic toward normal civilians who lost their lives while her comrades pursued their dream of returning to Lost Jerusalem. She dedicated herself fully to carrying out Margulis's orders, but often showed passive-aggressive signs of disagreeing with these actions; averting her eyes from people or incidents, mild protesting, possibly even subconsciously botching her missions.

While she felt very strongly about murdering innocents, she also felt very distanced and disconnected from normal people. This may be one reason for her lack of resolve when it came to openly opposing orders.

Another dualistic facet of her personality would be her disdain for life recycling variants, humans created through technology rather than by procreation with two humans. While all of the URTVs were created to further Dimitri Yuriev's purposes (which were to become God, and happened to thwart U-TIC's advanced toward their own goals), many Realians, and even some life recycled soldiers and cyborgs, had nothing to do with any of the conflicts directly. Despite their lack of involvement, she still hated them, thinking of them as aberrations, or sins against God.

In deviance land, Pellegri has learned of the betrayal that has occurred at the hands of Ormus's true leader (Wilhelm), so her outlook has changed some. She has become wary of blindly taking orders, no matter what the cause. At first, she was reserved and remorseful, understanding finally that she had spent most of her life working toward goals that never really existed. But she still remained stubborn, refusing to accept help from Jin until she realized she faced death (and possibly an eternal cycle of dying and coming back all messed up :D), so she accepted it begrudgingly. She still has not been able to let go of some of her past ways of thinking though. She still has vaguely uncomfortable feelings around variant life, despite having to abandon the Ormus religion, and its God.

General Skills/Abilities: Pellegri is adept in an un-named style of martial arts. She is also proficient in fighting with a long naginata-like weapon. She has the ability to use ethers, the equivalent of magic spells in Xenosaga. Ethers also give her a slightly heightened strength and dexterity. She also has a high tolerance for fire-based attacks.

General Weaknesses: Aside from general human weaknesses, such as being composed of skin and organs and such, Pellegri's elemental weakness is ice. So ice based ethers and spells hurt her more.

History: Pellegri was born somewhere! Most likely on Miltia. It can be assumed that she grew up with only little knowledge of her heritage as a descendant of the Immigrant Fleet, as in the present she refers to her younger self as naive and stupid in terms of politics, beliefs, and matters of the heart. Being the same age as Jin Uzuki, the two entered the Federation Military at the same time, and trained together. There, they began to form a bond and started a romantic relationship.

After the academy, Jin became a captain in the military, serving under Colonel Margulis. Pellegri was ranked just below Jin, carrying missions with him, and at his command. SOMEWHERE IN THIS GREY AREA, Pellegri came to learn more of Ormus and the Immigrant Fleet, most likely from Margulis. She learned that the Federation carried out Zohar link experiments on Michtam, the first planet settled after the 'destruction' of Lost Jerusalem (Earth), leading to the destruction of the planet, and the deaths of most of its inhabitants.

It is never said exactly HOW Pellegri was swayed into betraying the government, Margulis must have had some good convincing tactics. But she soon left Jin, saying that he didn't truly understand or care about her feelings anyway, and she went to Margulis's side. She became an inquisitor, third in command of U-TIC and Ormus, the Patriarch being the leader, and Margulis being Chief Inquisitor.

Pellegri oversaw operations in Miltia at Labyrinthos. Ormus carried out link experiments between the zohar and people who had the ability to communicate with U-DO. The Federation, wanting the zohar back, started the descent operation, a military invasion of Miltia and Labyrinthos. In the end, this led to the destruction of miltia, and the loss of the zohar.

Pellegri and Margulis escaped the planet somehow, and began to rebuild U-TIC's forces, funded by the Hyams company. The zohar had been sealed away in imaginary space at Miltia, and the only way to retrieve it was by using information encoded into a Realian named MOMO, by her father, Professor Mizrahi. This information, the Y-data, held the key to finding the zohar, as well as information that would aid in the link experiments. They pursued MOMO, eventually kidnapping her from the Federation's Contact Subcommittee. They tried extracting the data from the realian, but FAILED, and were outsmarted by Ziggy when he stole the realian back.

U-TIC chased MOMO, attempting to get her back and extract the data, but after repeated failures, Pellegri and U-TIC moved back into the shadows, and allowed Albedo to pursue the realian. Albedo eventually caught her, but failed at extracting the entire Y-data from her. BUT HE DID plant a trap in her subconscious, knowing the protagonists would perform manual maintenance on her after his attack. Entering her subconscious triggered the tap and leaked the Y-data into the UMN, allowing Albedo to take it and reopen Miltia's seal.

In the rush to reclaim the zohar that was sealed on Miltia, Pellegri was stationed on an Ormus stronghold near the planet, and was ordered to stop Jin and his group from reaching their destination. She battled them in her E.S., Issachar, and ultimately lost, but believed she had stalled them long enough so that they would be swallowed by the destruction of the stronghold, and she retreated. It turns out that she had failed in that aspect, and after her retreat she did not actively take part in any missions for some time.

Nearly a year passed before Pellegri and Margulis traveled to Michtam to view the ruins of the world that their ancestors had settled. Pellegri's convictions were reaffirmed when she saw the remnants of the destruction that had taken place on the planet, and the two returned to their battleship. Margulis tried to secure Rennes-le-Château, a big floating landmass that was once a part of France, but he was called back by the Patriarch of Ormus.

After a long chain of events that had nothing to do with Pellegri, the Zohar and Zarathustra, the eternal circle, were moved to Underground Ruins on Michtam, and Margulis moved U-TIC's fleet to the surrounding space. Despite her desire to obtain the two items that would secure their return to Lost Jerusalem, Pellegri warned Margulis against defying orders from the Patriarch, saying that even a chief Inquisitor would not be above punishment. Margulis ignored her, and ordered her to Michtam to keep Jin and his friends from reaching the Zohar.

After Jin's group disposed of Pellegri's underlings, she met them just before the Archon cathedral, the entrance to the underground ruins. She chided Jin for his ignorance, entering a holy land without understanding the consequences, and engaged them in battle. She fought fiercely, but was ultimately defeated. As her ES burned around her, Pellegri told Jin that he was free to choose his own path in life, but that she was bound by destiny and could never join him. Jin begged her to eject from her craft, but she told him she was too tired, and died in the explosion.

DEVIANCE: In a turn from the plot of Xenosaga, the protagonist group failed to stop Zarathustra from going out of control, and chaos was unable to successfully lead the gnosis to the past in Lost Jerusalem. This caused reality shifts on a cosmic scale, and several realities began to merge. Lifeforms that had once controlled Lost Jerusalem (basically, the evil powers from Xenogears, heh) came to power once again, though this time, Lost Jerusalem had changed significantly, it was made up of several different places from different points in time and different realities.

Pellegri's consciousness was pulled from the UMN, the underlying dimension where the consciousnesses of the dead lie in wait for ascension, and she came to life on this planet with Margulis. The two worked for Solaris, under the guise of Ormus, being lied to again to further goals other than their own. But, as the shifts were not the work of these evil beings, and rather the work of a random universal event, they had no real control over the minds of the individuals involved. And repeated contact with the vessel of anima in her ES craft, and the one in Jin's brought back Pellegri's memories of death.

Pellegri learned of the lies she had been fed by Ormus, and realized that the large scale massacre that the organization was now planning was being done, not out of any holy or divine intention, but in order to perpetuate the group's stranglehold on the new world. She tried to convince Margulis to stop his plans, but he refused. Margulis cast her out from Ormus, and placed a death sentence on her. After isolating herself, and contemplating her past actions, and the bleak possibilities ahead of her, she decided to accept Jin's offerings of help.

Jin took Pellegri to the Kukai foundation, and after providing its founders with the location of a Zohar emulator, and news of Ormus's future plans, they accepted her as a citizen. Eventually, she joined the guard staff of the Durandal, the Kukai foundation's warship, and served for some time with security. As Ormus's threat grew larger, Pellegri was incorporated into Jr's intelligence group, and was seeing to missions on Lost Jerusalem with the others.

On their last mission, gathering intelligence on Ormus's current objectives, the group was stationed on the planet while Ormus carried out a large scale link experiment with the Zohar. This caused another shift in reality, shuffling Jin and Pellegri into an alternate life where the two had married and settled in the town of Lahan. They lived together in a clinic that Jin ran, and Shion stayed with them. Despite suddenly waking up to this lifestyle, the two managed to retain all of their memories of what had truly transpired in the past and were... bewildered to say the least. Now the two are in Lahan, attempting to figure out the cause of the shifts.

Pellegri is taken from long after the game ends.

Reality Description: Currently, Pellegri resides on an alternate Earth, where many points in time and dimensions have merged together on the planet. The planet is being controlled by the floating city Solaris, though Pellegri and her group are unaware of this, they are even unaware that elements of the planet are from Earth. She is working together with Jin now to try to determine the cause of the territorial shifts.

Pellegri resides in the town of Lahan now. The town is located in the Bledavik continent, and lays in a clearing between a dense forest and a mountain range. The clinic she now calls home is just outside of town on a hill. Lahan lacks most modern amenities, such as electricity and automobiles, and the townspeople rely on Jin as their physician. The planet is subject to territorial shifts on occasion, but Lahan has remained mostly the same.

interstellar travel is possible in Pellegri's reality, and the group often travels on The Durandal or The Elsa. The Durandal is the Kukai foundation's warship. It's the size of a city and can fully sustain life for any amount of time in space. It consists of many residential areas, where some foundation residents live, and some merely stay on long trips, the bridge where several 100-series realians work on driving and monitoring the ship's resources and safety, a small park, a dock where many smaller ships come and go, and the restricted hanger where the zohar emulators are kept.

The Elsa is a small freighter ship, flown by Captain Mathew's and his crew, under the employ of the Kukai Foundation. It contains the bridge, a small cafe, run by robots, male and female cabins, a gun room, a dock where ESes are kept, and the Professor's Robot academy.
